Consolidators can slash airfare costs on your travels. They
are companies that buy blocks of tickets on scheduled airlines
and sell them at wholesale prices. Tickets may be up to 50
percent below the cost of APEX fares (advance purchase tickets on
scheduled airlines that carry certain restrictions) or up to 75
percent below the cost of full-fare coach seats.

In addition to the cost, the advantage of getting tickets
from airline consolidators is that you usually don't have
a 21-day advance purchase to get the best price or a Saturday
night stay requirement. Drawbacks include that a ticket
cannot be used on another airline if a flight is cancelled. If
there are many flights to the desired destination, this may
not be a problem. But if there are only one or two flights a
week, it could be troublesome. Also, frequent flier mileage
is not usually given. Advance seat assignments may not be
available and travelers may have their tickets delivered close
to their departure date.

The "drawbacks" to these incredible deals may include: that a ticket cannot be used on another airline if a flight is cancelled. If there are numerous regularly scheduled flights to you desired destination this may
